Gramophone Asset
Spring 2021: model and UVs done in Maya, textured in Substance Painter, lit & rendered with Renderman, light rig provided by Pixar Animation Studios
I am responsible for all aspects.
For this project, I wanted to create a detailed asset that felt antique and personal to the owner. My favorite process was creating the custom displacement map for the relief pattern on the horn and base.
This project revisits an asset created for my group short film, 'Forever'. After my experience on that short, I developed an interest in look development and surfacing, so I re-modeled and surfaced the gramophone in my own style to practice storytelling through aged materials. I also made my original model more complex by implementing a hexagonal base.
